Munich, Here We Come!

We are t-minus fifteen days away from our trip to Munich, Salzburg and Prague. It’s so close we can almost taste the Paulaner. We’re going to keep this trip pretty fresh and loose. By that, I mean I am going to try very hard to suppress that little voice in my head that wants to pack in as much as possible into every waking minute of the trip.

With a limited amount of time in each city, we are putting together a hit list of things we want to try to see and do. Key word being try, considering we are going to Oktoberfest. Here’s what we’ve got for Munich, so far.

Are we missing anything? Know of any good eats or cafes? Send em’ our way!

Oktoberfest: Thanks to 48 Hour Adventure’s Guide to Oktoberfest, we’ve been schooled in what to see, do, eat and of course, drink.

Mike’s Bike Tour: We love a good bike tour. When you’re in a city for a short amount of time, it’s a great way to get your bearings; see a ton of sights and learn fun facts.

Pubs & Breweries: One or all three of these… Hofbrauhaus Lowenbraukeller & Augustinerbrau (What can we say, we really like beer)

Residenz (the former residence of Bavarian kings)

A stroll around Marienplatz and the Viktualienmarkt

At least one of these locations to check out the view from the towers: Frauenkirche or Neues Rathaus or Peterskirche (Anyone have a fav?)

Deutsches Museum

Bavaria Filmstadt: Okay, so this one is categorized under Children’s Attractions in DK Eyewitness Travel’s TOP 10 Munich. There are two reasons, why I want to go: 1) it might be cool to check out because of the industry I work in. 2) Because I want to do this and live out my NeverEnding Story fantasy. When else am I going to have a chance to sit on Falkor the Luckdragon?!

And with that, I leave you with THE BEST scene from The NeverEnding Story. Don’t tell me you never dreamed about doing this.
