Spin The Globe: Vancouver, Canada

Favorite Photos from Our Travels

Vancouver, Canada

Last October we went to Vancouver, Canada on a whim to celebrate our one-year wedding anniversary. When we first got together we made it our goal to visit one new country a year for as long as we can. Last year, it almost didn’t happen. Reykjavik, Iceland was our destination of choice, but due to a tight budget and limited vacation days (Bryan had just started a new job) it just wasn’t feasible. One night during a pre-teen pouting fit of epic proportions I decided I wasn’t willing to give up that easy. It just so happened to be travel Tuesday (the day when airlines/travel sites usually release sweet deals). I logged on to Expedia and was able to score two round trip tickets to Vancouver (from LAX) for $335 total! It was seriously a steal of a deal. We snagged a room at the downtown Ramada for about $99 a night. It didn’t hurt that we were going in October when it’s typically cold and rainy, thus the greatly discounted prices.

A little grey sky and sprinkles didn’t bother us. We were going somewhere new and keeping the tradition alive. The flight from LAX to Vancouver was less than three hours so it was the perfect destination for a long weekend trip. While we were bummed the trip to Reykjavik didn’t work out, I’m really glad it ended up the way it did. Had it not, we wouldn’t have discovered one of the most beautiful and friendly cities we’ve ever been to.

These are just some of our favorite photos from our weekend in Vancouver.

P.S. We’re not claiming to be fantastic photographers. 😉
